We’re trying a whole different approach to Web3 gaming. We’re doing bets and experiments also with Pixel Dungeons. Also we’ve been working on a B2B platform where we are building out the infrastructure to power all these games and experiences. So we’ll dive into all the things we’re working on as well as the strategy.
We have a lot of runway to try a lot of things while building out core Pixels and other things we’ve been doing. Aiming for early November for Project Neo with a big product launch.
Chapter 3 is coming out at the end of the month as planned right now. End of the month of early November. We’re play testing this week, and opening up some player testing next week. The internal team is gonna have a prize pool going just for team members so we properly test it. But next week, we’ll run through a full demo of it. And for core game, we’ll be thinking about the core game - we’re not so focused on the player count right now. Our goal with Ch3 in the beginning stages is to live update it a lot. When you’re playing it, everyone who is playing will be playing it. There will be a new type of task in the Taskboard - you’ll earn yieldstones.
They will be the main resource inside Chapter 3. It allows you to start to participate inside of Ch3. You don’t have to play the new game loop, but you’re gonna be earning it anyways. There will be 3 Unions in the game, and you’ll have to join one if you wanna play. You use the yieldstones to help your Union or sabotage another Union. We wanted to see if we could introduce new gameplay that’s a little competitive. If it works, we might double down on it and make it more interesting. We might start to integrate Guilds into it, or build out more competitive mechanics. But we wanted to create a smaller loop that introduced competitive gameplay into Pixels. This is going to be a bit more of a casual loop as intended. If you join the winning Union, you will win the prize.
Our thoughts have changed on UA. We’re starting to scale out paid user campaigns. The plan is if Chapter 3 goes well, we’ll start to tweak the game to be more suited for paid UA. We need to be more mobile-friendly than we are. The next step after Ch3 would be prepping Pixels for a more mobile-friendly native release, then running paid UA campaigns (ideally profitable), and if we do this the right way, we grow userbase, grow revenue, then give revenue distributions to stakers for securing the network.
My goal for Pixels and Q4 is to be cash flow positive, so we can have the revenue we need to do all the things for the token. If you guys have noticed, there’s no game in Web3 that has really gotten greater attention. Maybe fantasy.fun. But nobody outside of Crypto gaming twitter knows about it.
Right now, there’s a narrative issue inside of Web3 gaming. Think about all the big influencers who talk about meme coins etc. None of them are talking about Web3 gaming right now. There hasn’t been a narrative that can convince people to actually believe. No Web3 game has found a market fit, or a way to be sustainable. When it comes to the importance of buy pressure on the token, there’s a scale of importance. Players of an ecosystem are important for the token. To actually have cash-flow positive tokenomics, you need to make a game that’s liked, that’s fun and have buyers inside the ecosystem itself. But you also need institutional buyers. A lot of the narrative in Web3 is shifted towards revenue and fundamentals. Then you can attract normal retail. When is the last time a normal user bought AXS, or SAND, or any of these tokens - I mean like your mom, your grandma, etc. There’s no normal retail buying gaming right now. Q4: By end of year, our goal is to generate cash flows.
Is it connected to Yield Guild Games asking for my cat
No, but we’re planning to attend YPS.
Can we choose our Union or is it random?
Yes you can choose your own. There are 3, you can choose whichever you want. If you wish to change, you have to purchase a thing to do it, but you can only change once every 24 hours or so. For me, it’s the art.
Will this UNION be a time based action event? Or will work like daily taskboard grind?
You get yieldstones, you place them in your Union’s Hearth. You want your Hearth Health to hit 100% and beat out the other Unions. That gameplay will reset every several hours. It will be continuous gameplay. There will be 2 different ways to get yieldstones. You’ll play Pixels like you do right now, and you’ll get them via the taskboard. This is gonna be more like a feature to supplement the current game.
Also does this mean taskboard gonna have less pixel with the yield stone added?
Truthfully, yes. We know you guys play the game and think of some tasks as blockers. We’re not adding new slots to the taskboard. You’ll earn a little less $PIXEL on the TB but you can potentially earn that back from the Ch3 loop. It’s not instant gratification like the taskboard.
Does the yieldstone gonna be expire if we dont use it?
It’s not set to, but it might be something we wanna do at some point.
I see an event in pixels dungeon, what event?
Surprise, the Pixel Dungeons team are here to discuss their new feature:
Social Dungeons you pay by interacting with the Twitter account. Go to our profile, and click the dungeon, you can connect your X by pressing Play Now, then you will see you get 1 Social Ticket.
How do I know I’m playing Web3?
Interesting question - I don’t really care if people know they’re playing Web3 or not. Web3 is adding a real money component to the game no matter where you add it. If you add a currency used inside the game, it’s a real money game whether you like it or not. The real money components can make a game harder to manage. We can do things like give out gift cards etc if RORS is over 1 and the game is sustainable.
Apple is not good on web3 and updates would take forever to pass. no problems with Android though
Yeah if we reskinned the front end on a mobile app for Apple and still have the crypto part be in the Web app, and still had the option to earn $PIXEL in the mobile app but could only cash out in the web app, then that should technically work. There’s going to be some experimentation there. Getting App Store acceptance is a big deal.
If you can go back would you switch pixels to Web2?
No. We’re not trying to build a Web2 gaming company. Why would we do that? We’re trying to disrupt Web2 gaming. We’re trying to think of the best ways to bring Web3 concepts to normal people and grow the gaming audience. It sucks because you really wish you could nail everything. You have to go down a path of experimenting a lot and messing up a lot, but with our experience now, we know what works inside of Web3, we know what not to do, and we’re gonna try to take those concepts to more people. We wanna change gaming. In order to do that, we have to come up with something new. We are probably in the best position for competing against EA or Scopely because they haven’t been doing the work in real money gaming.
Wen Land Fishing?
Soon.

When you've been getting messages in the Token Discussion forum for a whole year about doing nothing for the token, even with normal online traffic, you sat there silently, handing out tokens left and right. When in your game, people were simply trying to get as many tokens as possible, and now, almost a year and a half later, you've decided to work on the token, how smart is that?
"When you’re playing it, everyone who is playing will be playing it." - huh? I guess I needed to hear it to make it make sense. If you're playing it, you're playing it..
