We have so much we’ve been working on behind the scenes at Pixels. It’s the most excited I’ve been in a long time. We still believe in crypto and play-to-earn. The benefit of crypto is that the average user is able to partake in the bigger ecosystem and have stake in that ecosystem. Ownership plays a lot of different roles (NFT Avatars, P2E, NFT Lands). Where I think the bulk of utility of ownership is going to lie is around owning pieces of protocols in crypto. The mindset for Pixels has been to build and crack the concept of P2E because that’s how you get more ownership, stake and people in an ecosystem. P2E is genuinely better for all stakeholders: the players, the game and the ecosystem. Actually executing it is difficult but we’ve been working on it for the last year and a half, which is where Stacked comes in. In the next week or two you’ll get a deep dive into what we’re about the release.
Heidi shared a very important X post she made from the Pixels account, then visited Land 1034 to hang out with the community and see the infamous bouncing Luke UGC (made by Pixels content creator Saishi). She also went to the beach to see the cute new lighthouse and go fishing, before visiting some great lands (1123, 418, 1927, 1928, 1929, 2832, 2833, 2463, and 2464) for crafting, farming, and animal care.
Questions from the AMA
Luke you are bullish on tokens, like $PIXEL or Web3? What if you are wrong? We are often wrong in Web3. We believe something will work with any token in crypto market, and it often doesn’t
I have the strong belief that if tokens actually have solid fundamentals, businesses, and products behind them, involve community, and have the token be a part of the plan from the beginning, then there’s extreme opportunity.
The MS (Seaside Stash) animals are out of stock! When and where can we expect the second pool? What happens when all the animals are sold?
There will be more animals coming out in various ways. There might/might not be more in the Seaside Stash but we have plants to distribute some to Bountyfall winners.
Does Pixels game lvl matter to use Stacked?
If you’ve been playing Pixels, been engaged in the game, and spending/using $PIXEL, that’s a strong signal to other games. Part of the issue with p2e is identifying users that are high quality to an ecosystem, and Stacked uses useful data to reward you inside of other games. Other games will also be able to reward offers in an anonymous way, where it’s not tied to one user specifically, but certain categories they might be in.
RORS and system model is sustainable, people aren’t selling tokens because of the low price. If the $PIXEL price was bigger people would sell more, instead of spending in game
We have found that anything we do with in-game rewards and spend, it ties to the dollar amount. When we do any modeling, it’s in USD regardless of the currency we get out, which means it’s agnostic to $PIXEL price.
Does owning a land, being a vip, give any advantage to the players in the Stacked app?
Owning assets helps because it’s a very good proof of humanity, it means you own assets in a game (which looks good to other games), and having VIP is spend-signal to other games as well.
I think taskboard is pretty much central to the gameplay. When you reallocate rewards, how does it affect the gameplay?
Taskboard is still the main economic driver in Pixels and it’s sensitive for that reason. I don’t think anyone in the game loves Taskboard in it’s current implementation, but there would be a lot of downstream effects if it was taken away. We have been thinking about having the Stacked system slowly take over the Taskboard (but thoroughly testing it first).
Will Ronin migration effect $PIXEL in game or staking?
$PIXEL token lives on Ethereum so there shouldn’t be any issues, but we will look into it to be sure.
Stacked will have $PIXELS monthly payment?
When Stacked launches, it will only be earn-only. One of the first features we will add is a Stacked store where you can spend the tokens and currencies, so you don’t have to do a withdrawal. Eventually we’ll probably transition most of the earnings to be cashed out into the app, and have some things still be redeemed in-game.
Luke, it’s time to switch to $vPIXEL! I want to spend the token in the game, but it’s mentally difficult for me to spend it because there are no restrictions on what I can do with it.
I’m still trying to figure out the best UX for this. What’s good about Stacked is that it can reward any cryptocurrency, including $vPIXEL. It can reward currencies in the Stacked platform or in the games.
Is the business side of Stacked only for businesses or user user friendly for indie developers?
Even if you’re building for big businesses, you need to build something that would be friendly for an indie developer too.
How is Stacked and Chubkins doing in mobile native Luke?
Stacked has 2 apps that will be releasing soon. We’ll probably release the web version first but it will also be coming mobile native to iOS and Android. They will probably get approved for Google Play first and then iOS. Chubkins is already on Google Play in early access and it’s starting to look pretty good. We will probably open up Chubkins to more users in more geographies in April.
Please add a VIP subscription for a month.
We are going to redo payments inside of Pixels in the short to medium term. To go over the Core Pixels priorities again, we’ll be adding a new endgame feature with more content, we’re working on getting more Taskboard tasks into Stacked, then we’ll be working on the new user experience to be more friendly to new users, and we’ll also do a rework of reward payments.
Wen riding animals instead of shoes
Mounts are a cool feature. It’s hard because we’d have to redo so much art or make new art.
Is there any burning token mechanics instead of total spent token?
Locking tokens is way more effective than having tokens spent, so people need to be convinced to lock tokens instead of selling them. That’s the side of the problem we’ll focus on more in the long run.
The game is dead
We’re here. We’re still building, shipping, and we have really cool stuff coming out soon. The game is in the best economic spot it’s ever been in and has been holding for months. Now is the time to grow the ecosystem and we have been doing all this work to get the fundamentals right. Soon we’ll enter growth.

Hi, I'm Alvicrypto, I've been playing since 2023. I'd like all items to be tradable, some discounts or price reductions for VIP, and more missions to play Texas Hold'em Poker (they need to fix the game's preflop).
