Stacked is something we’ve been working on for the last year and a half. Stacked is a platform that turns any game into a play-to-earn game, which aligns with our thesis on Web3 gaming in general (making Web3 work, making ownership work within a game, etc.). Stacked will be a new app you can download and collect earnings. It’s a centralized place where every game in the Pixels ecosystem can show what offers and missions you can do, and you will also be able to earn rewards and cash out there if you want. We have the withdrawal/deposit system, smart offers, and it hooks up into the current system in Pixels as well.
Stacked will probably release next week. The tech is all ready, and now we’re just getting the last pieces and marketing ready. When we launch we want everyone to know exactly what it is, so that’s the last piece. The web app will be released first and then the Google Play and iOS apps will be released. In addition, we’ll be launching access to the SDK to more partners gradually.
In-game, Heidi participated in Shameus’ Shameful St. Patricks event and showcased the new Stacked offer system in Pixels. Be sure to check them both out!
Questions from the AMA
Do we really need to market Stacked? Many players are already waiting.
The good thing is that Pixels players are already using Stacked. On the high level though, we want to accomplish and create a system that can grow with players and revenue. We want P2E to reach as many people as possible.
Basically Stacked is just a bridge for more opportunities for other games and Pixels
That’s the right way to view it in the beginning stages. If you’re just playing Pixels, your experience won’t change much, but if you’re interested in earning rewards in other games, Stacked could be worth checking out.
So offers will be user-friendly and not a general “daily task/weekly task” that will be available for all of the players?
This is where the system differs from other stuff. We’re not the first team to make a quest board in Web3, but what makes this different is that it’s personalized.
Fix what you have instead of making new
This is the fix. As we have Stacked out, this will be the way we can replace the current taskboard system with something new. When we have Stacked live, you’ll see the taskboard will have more tasks inside of Stacked than just the taskboard.
What about giving rewards to those who can reach high levels, with that players will be more active in-game instead of just hanging. For example, 100 $PIXEL weekly for reaching 100 lvl.
Creating incentives for players to keep playing is very important so this is what Stacked can do. We need to make sure there are even more rewards that incentivize this.
The way Pixels is right now is not new user-friendly to be honest. If you are a new player it’s hard to get resources and find things to do
We’ve been in a phase of how to make Pixels work economically. We needed to figure out how to make it work for the endgame and how to make it work so it didn’t burn money. The $PIXEL token has been amazing because it helped us figure out how to make rewarded play work, and we’ve been able to give out more nuanced rewards than other companies. Core Pixels does need a little work in the beginning gameplay to figure out how to retain users, so it’s a combination of rewards and gameplay.
Stacked is surely in its early phase, mind sharing your idea about Stacked 2-4 months or more from now?
The main priority is getting Stacked out, and now that we have the product that’s out, things get fun. Our first thesis is marketing towards b2b side. In Web3 there might not be sufficient games to utilize this tech, but it might not be a problem with Web2.
Are you still building mobile native? When public test Chubkins?
I’m the most bullish on mobile native now. There are advantages to having a browser game, but why I like mobile native a little more now is because it’s better for UA and organic growth.
What would Stacked’s stance be on partnering with casino-type games?
If a game is labeled as gambling then it becomes risky, so that’s why we’ll have to be careful about the games we choose in the beginning.
Can Stacked move token rewards between games?
Stacked will be able to offer rewards in any currency (soft currency inside of games, cryptocurrency, $vPIXEL, USDC, and a new point system inside of Stacked). It will launch with $PIXEL and in-game rewards but will be able to support all of these.
Tier 5? Ponds deconstruction?
These together. 👀
